Bi-Het is a term with multiple meanings.

Controversy[]

The term was originally used to describe bisexual women that were in straight relationships to invalidate their bisexual identity. However, this definition can be reclaimed (do not use the term unless the person consents for the term to be used), or other definitions of the term can be used instead.

Other Definitions[]

Bi-Het (also known as bi-hetero or bi straight/bistraight) is a term describing those that are both bi- and straight, or it can also mean someone who is questioning between the two. Reasons for identifying as such includes:

  • Being attracted to multiple genders that are dissimilar to one's own gender, or having attraction to multiple genders that are different from one's own gender
  • Being genderfluid and/or multigender, causing one to describe their attraction as being both bi- and straight
  • Being bi- in one type of attraction, and straight in another (ex. heteroromantic bisexuals, heterosexual biromantic, heteroplatonic bisensual, etc)
  • Being attracted to strayt individuals or non-binary individuals that identify as straight in some way, as well as one's own gender
  • Having more attraction to the opposite gender or dissimilar genders to one's own gender than another gender or other genders
  • An alternate term to heteroflexible
  • A homoflexible person that also occasionally experiences straight/strayt attraction
  • Having a bi- identity but seeing one's attraction as strayt
  • Being abro- and experiencing both bi- and straight orientations
