Dread-Flag

Dread-Flag

Dread- is a prefix used to describe a person who may feel attraction -sexual or romantic- but as soon as the attraction is realized the person in question experiences anxiety or dread.

One who identifies with Dread- may experience a varying degree of dread to the attraction they feel. The prefix Dread- can be used with other labels as well and is considered apart of the aro and ace spectrum.

The labels dreadromantic/dreadsexual can be used along side other orientations describing attraction; and a dread- individual may purse a relationship if they so choose.

Dread- individuals can also identify as romance/sexually repulsed; however the two are not the same, dread- is categorized as purely anxiety as a reaction to realizing one feels attraction towards someone while repulsion is experienced in general as a reaction to others or media forms of attraction.
