Super-straight[]

"Super-straight", is a mock sexual identity in which a person, is only sexually attracted to cis people, or people who identify with their assigned sex at birth.

The "super-straight" identity was made because transphobic straight men felt the need to distinguish themselves from other straight people by not including any trans people in their attraction label, no matter the anatomy or fertility thereof, which themselves do constitute valid sexual and romantic preferences. As the normal straight identity already encompasses all people who are only sexually attracted to the opposite sex or gender, the "super-straight" identity is rendered a superfluous and purely bigoted identity. While we here at the Sexuality Wiki are tolerant of any and all sexualities, defining a sexuality as purely anti-trans is a bigoted mockery of sexual and gender identity.

Preferences for fertility or specific genitals are valid, but to define a sexuality as purely anti-trans is bigoted.

"Super-straight" Flag

History[]

The term was coined in February 2021 by a TikTok influencer named Kyle Royce.[1] He made a series of posts attempting to defend his transphobia "because that's [his] sexuality, you know?"

The term "super-straight" became popular on 4chan, which is unusual given the website's widespread bigotry, though actual flags for this sexuality were made in a meager attempt at disguises the clear-cut transphobia of the label.

Reddit removed subreddits promoting the inherently bigoted identity of "super-straight" for spreading hatred.[2]

Tiktok banned the tag #superstraight, as well as banning Kyle Royce's[1] account.[2] Kyle Royce[1] being the creator of "Super-Straight".

Controversies[]

Like stated before, this is meant to be a mockery of transgender and queer people. Usually, these people who are/support Super-Straights, wanna claim a "Straight Pride Month/Day", obviously mocking Pride Month.

The posts about "Super-Straights", are widely believed to be linked to Neo-Nazi groups[2]. However this has not been confirmed, it is widely speculated.

Alternatives[]

As stated above, it is okay to have a preference for fertility or specific genitals. This term and flag, however, are transphobic as explained above.

Thus, many people have been hesitant to use it as they aren't transphobic, but do have a preference for specific genitals.

There is actually non-transphobic terms for it, that are simply less known.
